Beef Stroganoff

100_5345 editThis is one of our family favorites.

Sometimes I serve it with brown rice, or quinoa. This time we had it with whole grain pasta.

Simple to make and VERY good!


Beef Stroganoff


1 lb. ground beef

1 medium onion, chopped

½ tsp Tamari sauce

1 clove garlic, minced

Sea salt and pepper to taste

1 recipe of Tiffany’s Substitute Cream of Mushroom Soup (page   )

1 cup raw milk

½ cup sour cream

Steamed brown rice



In a large skillet brown ground beef, and add tamari, salt and pepper.  After the meat has browned, add the onion and cook 3-4 minutes.  Stir in garlic right before adding Tiffany’s Substitute Cream of Mushroom Soup and the milk. 

Simmer covered 20-30 minutes.  Remove from the heat, and stir in sour cream.  Serve over steamed brown rice. Top with fresh parsley.

Tiffany’s Cream of Mushroom Soup Substitute


½ cup raw milk

2 tbsp cornstarch

1 tsp chicken bouillon

1 tsp fresh or dried onion

Pinch of dried parsley and thyme, more if desired

Sea salt and pepper to taste

¼ tsp dehydrated garlic

1- 4oz. can mushrooms


In a small saucepan mix cold milk with cornstarch. Add remaining ingredients and simmer 2 minutes. Equivalent to 1 can cream of mushroom soup.

  1. What is Tamari Sauce, I have never heard of that? But it sure looks GOOD!

    • Stef,
      Tamari is wheat free soy sauce, that is also processed in a healthier way. They have it in most grocery stores. To me, it has a much richer flavor than regular soy sauce! Try it!
