Homemade Pizza


This is my homemade Whole Wheat Pizza Dough with garlic in it.

100_5308100_5311100_5316b100_5318b100_5320bYummy Pesto topped off with jalapeno stuffed green olive, onions, red bell pepper, mushrooms, tomatoes, zucchinni and cheese.

Delicious and healthy. Everyone is happy because they can make their own! 

Make the dough ahead of time, bake it and freeze it. Then just thaw, top and bake when ready!

Whole Wheat Pizza Dough


1 cup warm water

1 tbsp instant yeast

½ cup plain yogurt

2 tbsp extra-virgin olive oil

3 cloves garlic, crushed

3 1/2 – 4 cups fresh-ground whole wheat or spelt flour

1 tsp sea salt


In a mixing bowl pour in water and yeast, mix lightly. Add 2 cups flour, yogurt, salt and olive oil. Mix until blended. Add remaining flour and garlic. Knead by machine 8 minutes or by hand 10 minutes. Put into a greased bowl and let rise 30-40 minutes.

The dough is enough for 1 thick crust pizza or 2 thin crust pizzas. Generously grease baking sheet with olive oil, spread onto baking sheet to desired thickness. Top with roasted red pepper, onions, olives, mushrooms, artichoke hearts, mozzarella and parmesan cheese etc. Bake in a pre-heated oven at 450°F for 15-20 minutes or until done.

16 oz. fresh basil

2 cloves garlic

1 tsp fresh rosemary

1 cup fresh-grated parmesan cheese

3 tbsp pine nuts

Juice of ½ lemon

½ tsp sea salt

¾ cup extra-virgin olive oil


In a food processor or blender mix garlic, basil, rosemary, pine nuts, parmesan cheese, lemon juice and salt. Slowly drizzle in olive oil while machine is running. Mix until blended. Serve with pasta, on toast or with Pesto Chicken and Green Beans (page
